Due to budget shortfalls, many school districts across the nation are having to make the difficult decision of what to cut from the budget.  Special programs, teaching positions, administration, new teacher training and professional development are areas that maybe hard hit.

Explain the areas that should not be affected by the budget shortfall, and which areas should be on the chopping block.  Send your response to my email address.  Responses will be posted on the class bullentin board.

Do You Know?:

How should a teacher determine the learning needs of each student?

Teachers should continually assess students to determine needs and growth.  A variety of assessment tools should be used, formal and informal.  Teachers should also take time to read a student's cumulative folder which may provide insight on difficulities the student may be encountering.
